Knowledge of Wellness

The Pete Foundation is proud to introduce the Knowledge of Wellness Program

Now more than ever, communities and organizations have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to play an active role in strengthening mental well-being. By increasing understanding and offering practical tools, we can better support the family members,
friends, and colleagues who may be living with mental illness.

Knowledge of Wellness (KnoW) is designed as a workplace program to turn awareness into action. It promotes mental health understanding, acceptance, and proactive care by empowering individuals to participate in meaningful, achievable ways. Through KnoW, we expand our shared knowledge and actively cultivate a culture of wellness and support for everyone.

Any organization—any community group—and any individual—can participate. There is no cost to become a Knowledge of Wellness participant.

Participating is easy:

As an Individual

  • Attend a QPR training class

  • Take the Mental Health Literacy Survey

As an Organization or Community Group

We would like to provide support and resources to get you started within your organization or group (see sign-up form for full details)

  • Offer quarterly digital articles on mental health.

  • Display the Mental Health Flag during May, or any additional months.

  • Offer mental health buttons & information on risk factors and resource materials for employees/customers.

  • Provide one or more QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer – the CPR for suicide prevention) trainings.

  • Invite employees to take the anonymous Health Literacy Survey on The Pete Foundation’s website.

  • Provide one or more Safe Habor trainings (a training program created by Volunteers of America).

Become a Knowledge of Wellness:

By choosing to become a Knowledge of Wellness participant, you are doing more than participating in a program — you are taking a public stand for education, compassion, and life-saving awareness.

Your commitment helps replace silence with understanding, stigma with support, and isolation with connection.

Together, through intentional action and shared responsibility, we can each strengthen mental wellness in our workplaces, families and communities.

We can each play a part to ensure families experience the loss that forever changed ours.
